Kaslo South Development
Real Affordable Housing for Kaslo’s Future
Status: In planning and development
Kaslo South Development is the Kaslo Housing Society’s newest housing initiative, focused on expanding long term affordable housing options within the Village of Kaslo. The project is located in the Kaslo South area and is being planned in collaboration with local government and community partners.
This development represents the next phase of the Society’s work to address housing needs for residents across a range of incomes and life stages. Planning efforts are guided by community input, local housing needs, and long term sustainability.
As the project progresses, details such as housing types, timelines, and eligibility will be shared with the community.

About the Project
Penny Lane Apartments is a community housing development created by the Kaslo Housing Society to provide secure, affordable rental homes for people living in Kaslo and Area D. The project reflects years of planning, collaboration, and community support, and responds directly to the need for stable housing in a rural community.
The three storey residential building includes ten rental homes designed for individuals, couples, seniors, and families. Homes range from studio to three bedroom units, with two fully accessible homes designed for residents with mobility needs.
Each home includes in suite laundry, storage, and a private balcony or patio. The building was designed to fit within Kaslo’s historic downtown character while meeting modern standards for comfort, accessibility, and durability.
Why This Project Matters
Kaslo faces ongoing housing challenges driven by limited rental supply, fixed incomes, and rising costs. Penny Lane Apartments helps address these challenges by offering long term housing for people who already live and work in the community.
By increasing access to affordable homes, the project supports aging in place, workforce retention, family stability, and overall community resilience.
