Have you noticed the solar panels on the roof of our building under construction behind the Kemball Centre? It was Columbia Basin Trust that came up with most of the funding to make this possible. (A $58,000 CBT grant pays for most of the cost of the solar array and for the extra cost of upgrading the roof from asphalt tile to steel. That is in addition to the $228,000 already donated to the project by CBT.)
The solar panels will feed back to the grid and should offset the society’s costs to heat, cool and light the common areas of the building. Pretty neat, huh?
